Ruslan Akun's drama Paradise Under Mothers' Feet, about an adult man with a developmental disability and his mother's love, was selected as Kyrgyzstan's entry for the 97th Academy Awards. According to 24.kg, it topped the Kazakhstan box office with over $1 million.
